| pie if you're planning on getting new speakers... dont waste your money
there are only 2 different speaker set ups worth buying, all rest are junk
both are logitech (you need the THX Certified!!!!) #1 speakers out there Logitech Z-5500 THX Certified 5.1
#2 speakers out there Logitech Z-2300 THX Certified 2.1
you can check reviews on both, and others and will find these are the only ones worth looking at
i spent $180 on my z-2300 over a year ago, now they only $100... (i blare them almost 24/7) bass is like an earthquake, and still no signs of the slightest distortion
the 5500 has just about the same sound as the 2300 but it has surround sound (and costs more... $259.99 to be exact)
rest of logitech speakers suck

| My computer
CPU- 2.4 quad
MEM- 2x 2048mb DDR2 1066Mhz and 2x 512mb DDR2 1066Mhz
Video- 512 DDR3 (ATI)
Monitor- LG, 24 inches, DVI (most have it), 1650x1050, 10000:1 color (most have a 2000:1), 2ms responce time.
Speakers- (Ill type this up later cause im too f***ing pissed cause i spent a half hour typing this up before, but when I posted it I was signed out. Like what the F***ing s*** that is bull-f***ing-s***.)
Other stuff- Basic mouse (though amazingly good for gaming), basic keyboard, webcam (only used for the mic)
S*** that happens- My ethernet though fast is so gay cause it keeps losing connection while playing (not the server fault). The realy shitty thig is that I ussualy lose connection right before I kill someone. (and then they kill me)

Pie, your new comp should come with a NIC card built into the back of your system which handles a 10 meg/100 meg Fast Ethernet port. (possibly even gigE) Dont waste your money. (unless i'm missin' somethin') EDIT: By the way, I have the perfect avatar for you! It owns! (as long as the site accepts GIF file)

| it's score is a 5.2...is that any good? O.o
ASUS G50VT-X1 LAPTOP
Intel P8400 Montevina 2.26 Ghz 3mb cache (TDP 25 watts) 4GB 800Mhz Ram 320gb 7200RPM HD 512MB Nvidia 9800M video card with DDR 3 Ram. 15.6 LCD at 1366 x 768. Intel Wireless-N Windows Vista Premium 64 bits.
Altac Lansing speakers
PROS: Sturdy built, QUIET!!!, quality speakers, top notch design, 9800 video card.
CONS: Big power adapter, width may not allow this to be accomodated in a 15.4 in laptop bag. Some bloatware.
15.6"/7.2lbs screen/weight .
being my first lap top, it did not dissapoint me at all. i can easily play cod, guild wars, rome total war, and LOLTRO without any lag (lag on cod 4 when there are the damn high pingers). I bought it from bestbuy for $1300 and it came with all the microsoft office stuff, and like 2-3 months of norton (which works great). if ayone here says asus sucks....may God damn your sould. This lap top is by far the best i have ever played on.

| That laptop is sweet, and at $1300 is an awesome deal. The only thing that I would want to upgrade there is the CPU to at least 2.4 considering that most games that come out now recommend a 2.2Ghz dual core processor, I like having a bit more, but that's just me. Either way that's a great laptop, and the big power adapter is because of the 9800M, the thing needs lots of juice to power it. | |
